Dolcetto 2014 reserve- just released

It's not often that we produce a reserve red from our Dolcetto. In fact, the previous vintage was 2010! Most of the Dolcetto fruit now goes into our rose.

The wine is packed full of dark cherry characters and is rich with round tannins. Only 100 cases made.

We also bottled 25 magnums. These are $150 and can be purchased by contacting me directly-

Yep. At last! Another FYO Day.

Sunday, February 28, from 9:30am until the wine runs out.

Bring at least 6 clean bottles and fill them with some Dolcetto 2015. We have corks if you need them. And some new bottles which you can buy for $1.50 (including a cork) if you prefer. Although we don't have many of these.

A really fun activity.

Release of Passito sweet wine.

We experimented this year with a traditional Italian method of making sweet wine from drying the grapes.

After about 2 months, the grapes were sufficiently dehydrated to press and ferment. The resulting wine has been bottled in 375ml bottles, has about 140g/l of residual sugar and 16% alcohol.

Another word for it is 'nectar'.
